This year, thanks to a project fully funded by one of our wonderful supporting partners, Juntos Mola Mas, volunteers, staff members, and the children all worked to distribute mountains of pebbles on our home grounds. Juntos Mola Mas also helped renovate Amani’s multipurpose room. The children now have a beautiful room for studying and other activities.

Mto Wa Mbu has great variation in monthly rainfall with the heaviest rains falling between February and late April. As you can see from the 2018 video at this link, many areas experience flooding. Here at Amani Children’s Home the uneven ground surrounding the buildings would often end up covered with several inches of water making it challenging for children and staff to move from building to building without getting wet.
